Which is more important?
A philosophical/political question for my circle of friends here: Which is more important, #democracy or #liberty?

Democracy for sure, because I just LOVE it when complete strangers have power over my life to make all my personal decisions for their own benefit. I LOVE that.
Liberty, because with it, I can choose if I want democracy, or to simply rebuild the republic instead.
Liberty. Hands down.
Liberty is most important. There is nothing from preventing a democracy from instituting tyranny. As a matter of fact, that is the fatal flaw of democracies.
Liberty for liberty means freedom but democracy only means the right to choose a form of government even if bad like communism. Communism can be voted in by a majority of uneducated people.
@RobertLeeRE - @sometimestheycomebackanyway - @firetyger - @saturnnights - @blonde_apocalypse - It seems as though we do a lot more promotion of democracy than the real reason we exist as a nation...liberty. Doesn't it? We pay lip service to liberty as we watch it being taken away every day. Not that democracy isn't important...as long as we keep it in it's place. But it was democracy that voted in, by a large margin, the worst president in recent memory. Anyway thanks for answers and for noticing my seldom used (these days) xanga blog. Even @blonde_apocalypse - tongue in cheek.
Liberty, not "mob"ocracy!

Yes, there does come a time that everything need to be rebuilt. This is such a time maybe.
But the idea is lofty. What other solution though??. Everything is about money, haves vs. have nots. Have nots will not give up the purse strings they control without fight. Everything will disintegrete first before this happens. Probably best to just sit back a prepare for a bumpy ride, gathering berries and things to save to use later after the Apocolypse begins.
